The 2015 NHS Plant/Bake sale was an overwhelming success! Once again, the herbs we purchased from Heartland Organics were in great demand, along with the wonderful variety of basils grown by our very own “Basil Bob”, Bob Wollenberg. The plants members brought from their gardens also sold well.
We had an amazing array of Seasoned Home & Garden items, which customers always enjoy. Thanks to Nancy Klammer for getting the raffle baskets nicely filled with donations.
The winners were Sara Zimbelman, Jill Kuhel, and Rozz Beckman. The bake sale had the usual array of herbal delicacies and the tasting table was extremely popular. The gift table had lovely herbal creations. We gained one new member and several renewals.

I have been selling the leftover plants at my house and have made $150.00. Serena will take them this weekend for her garage sale. So these sales will be added to above figures. If you still need some plants, contact myself or Serena. There are some mints, French tarragon, lemon basil and sage.
A heartfelt thank you to Serena McCoy for picking up the plants from Heartland Organics. Many thanks to Mary Andelt and Margaret Dentlinger for
delivering the leftover garden plants and the home and garden items to the Center for People in Need. They were very appreciative of our donations!
Our informal survey indicated customers heard about the sale from the newspaper, KZUM How’s It Growing show, street signs, flyers, members, Facebook, etc. There were lots of repeat customers who said they come every year.
THANKS to EVERYONE who helped with the sale in any way, big or small! NHS has the best volunteers ever, making it a fun and profitable day!
